Homosassa Springs State Park Celebration of Lights
With Christmas fast approaching you might not be in the mood to get out and about. However, if you are , and you’re looking for, say, some nice family fun to offer to out-of-town-relatives, then the Celebration of Lights festival at the Homosassa Springs State Park might just fit the bill.
The celebration will run for three more nights–tonight, Christmas Eve, and December 26th. Every celebration night has something different.
Tonight it’s Nashville’s Brittany Bolger for “A Country Christmas.” On Christmas Eve the Nature Coast Community Church hosts “Candlelight Christmas.” And on the 26th there will be an after-Christmas party.
The park does suggest a donation of $3 for adults and $1 for children ages six through twelve.
You can view the entire flier here.
The park has plenty to offer any other week of the year as well. If you’ve never been, you’re missing out: there’s a 45 foot deep natural spring there, and the park spans 210 acres. Florida wildlife is plentiful within the park. There are even manatees, which might be an awesome sight for your out-of-town guests.
There’s also a hippo. A movie star hippo. He’s not native to Florida, of course, but Florida adopted him anyway.
The park admission itself is $9 per adult. However, trams are running to the Christmas celebration since the pricing is different.
The park is located at 4150 S. Suncoast Boulevard, Homosassa, Florida, 34446. You can call 352-628-5343 to get information about anything going on at the park, or you can simply visit their website.
In the meantime, everyone here at Rain Control Gutters wishes you and your family Happy Holidays!
