Micro-Irrigation Class in St. Petersburg
On November 14th, Pinellas County Extension is hosting a Sensible Sprinkler Systems and Micro-Irrigation class. This class is part of its Florida-Style landscaping series.
The entire series is held every Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. at the City of St. Petersburg Water Resources department at 1650 Third Avenue North. All of these classes are absolutely free, though seating is limited. If you want to go, you’ll need to register online.
Micro-irrigation is a subject we’ve discussed on our blog before. These irrigation systems are one of the best ways to lower your water bill, especially if you have a vast landscape that needs a lot of care.
As gutter contractors we spend a lot of time around water and water issues, so it’s only natural for these sorts of things to catch our attention! We also care about preserving Florida’s natural resources so we always enjoy showcasing these classes from the local county extension.
If you’re interested in this kind of information you should definitely like the Extension on Facebook, too. This will help you keep track of all of the awesome classes and events that they have to offer. They also offer some outstanding information and photographs of Florida-friendly plants and shrubs that you can add to your landscaping.
This post on the Beautyberry was one of their most recent. It’s a native plant with brilliant pink berries that grows well all year. It’s drought-tolerant, so it would certainly work well with your new micro-irrigation system, should you choose to use one!
