Is it possible that we’ll see snow in Florida this year?
This is kind of a trick question. 🙂 You see, on December 6th Downtown Clearwater will turn into a winter wonderland, but it won’t be freak weather.
Instead, it’s a free holiday event sponsored by Clearwater’s Cleveland Street District.
There will be all sorts of great things to do. Families can enjoy the snow slide, train rides, inflatable attractions, and outdoor skating rink.
There will be the chance to enjoy holiday crafts. And they’ll be lighting up the new Capitol Theatre sign.
They’re even playing Santa. The first 250 kids ages 12 and under will be gifted with Winter Theme plush toys.
This is an event that you might not want to miss. It’s all happening at 5:30 pm on the 400 block of Cleveland Street.
If the Hernando County Fairgrounds are closer for you then you might head out that way at 6:00 PM (6426 Broad St., Brooksville) on Friday or Saturday evenings starting November 29th and continuing through December 21st. The event, called Candy Cane Acres, will be taking place at the fairgrounds.
This one does carry a modest price of $10 per car load. But there will be plenty to do, including Mrs. Claus’ kitchen, a parade of trees, a kid’s play area, sleigh rides, and plenty of food. Santa’s workshop will also be available.
Don’t fret if you miss both of those, however. Tampa’s Downtown on Ice is already open. You’ll be able to lace on your skates and enjoy outdoor skating fun from now until January 3rd, every day starting at 4:00 pm.
These things are just the tip of the iceberg! Don’t miss out on all the great December fun going on throughout the Tampa bay area!
